Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF’s)
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF’s)
Take progressive steps towards a positive future in one of the most competitive industries. Building with insulated concrete forms is a definite advantage over the competition!
As we continue to manufacture several types of ICFs, you will no doubt agree this is an attractive building method. As a product, ICFs provide a high level of insulation, ease of assembly and extra strong concrete curing, and these are just a few of the benefits to building with ICFs.
ICF benefits include:
- Long-term energy savings – Because ICF walls can perform as high as R-50 or more, manufacturers estimate that ICF construction can reduce energy costs from 1/3 to over 1/2 for comparable size buildings.
- Lower maintenance costs – ICF walls are resistant to rotting and do not provide a food source for insects and mold that like wood and cellulose products. To save on exterior maintenance costs, steel and plastic studs in the forms allow virtually any type of siding to be attached.
- Other savings – Because of the higher safety level in ICF walls, homes often receive lower insurance premiums and have higher resale values.
- Cleaner air – The tight construction combined with an air filtration system minimize dust and pollen in the air, reducing allergies and keeping furniture cleaner.
- Reduced noise – Thick, insulating walls create a sound barrier.
What is an ICF?
ICF’s are simply hollow blocks of EPS that snap together, much like Lego’s. They stack together and create a sandwich of reinforced concrete between walls of EPS.
